In all your cybersurfing, you've found yourself in my little corner of the net.  Thanks for stopping by :-) Feel free to browse around a bit before moving on. This is my place to share a little bit of myself with you and a place to express who I am and what I'm about...

A little about myself. After all...that's what this site is about! :) I created this site to share with my friends online and off who I am and what is important to me. A personal website is a good way for people to get to know you. For those who were familiar with my old site, I decided that so many things had happened in my life since I'd created and maintained the old site that I should just start all over again and totally remodel my website :) So this one will be somewhat similar, but laid out completely different. New and improved, just like me :)

ABOUT ME

I live in North East Ohio. I've been married to a wonderful man for over two years now and we have an adorable baby boy who just turned a year old. I'm 40 years old; I am a Christian; I have blonde hair, blue eyes, and I am a BBW.

Family

Our wedding was December 1st 2001. We honeymooned in Hawaii and it truly was paradise, just like they say!  (You can see pictures from Hawaii and the wedding by clicking on the Photos link to the left). Our baby boy arrived on March 27, 2003 and I thank God every day for the new health that enabled me to conceive him and the blessing he already is in our lives.  Married life is great and I feel so much more complete now. I’m still crazy about him and he tells me the same thing every day

Faith

I believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. I was raised with Christian beliefs all my life as both of my grandfathers were pastors of their own churches. I received Christ when I was a senior in high school and after several years of being away from my faith, I came back to it after having my son and wanting to raise him in a Godly home and trying to set a good example for him of a wholesome lifestyle and faith in Christ. I have so much more peace in my heart when my spirit is where it should be. For more about my faith, click on the Faith button to the left.

BBW

For those not familiar with the term BBW, it means Big Beautiful Woman and is used in the BBW community online and off to designate women (and those who prefer big partners) who have come to terms with their size and make no apologies for it. We have come to realize that not everyone is made to be a size six and that it is ok to be larger than models on TV and in magazines and that as long as our size isn't affecting our good health that we accept being large and are fine with it. There are plenty of people out there who prefer larger partners for various reasons regardless of what popular media tell us! I'm a BBW...something I've learned to accept about myself,  no more "such a pretty face...if only....".  I can be who I really am now...no more "if only"s or "someday when"s.  At last I've learned to make no apologies for my size.

Being big is what I look like, not who I am. There are many layers to us all and we need not judge each other or ourselves based on just the outer layer that covers many rich wonderful layers beneath.

Weight Loss Surgery (WLS)

However I’m a much healthier BBW after having had RNY weight loss surgery in March of 2001. I’m down 157 pounds and still very much a bbw but now I’m a healthy one.  It's very important to me to stress that I did this for health reasons and not because of any shame of being a BBW. Sometimes being large does affect our health and we have to take responsibility for it and do something about it. We can be large and be very healthy but sometimes being too large harms our health. So I took responsibility for that when my size started affecting my health and had the surgery. Now I'm still a BBW but a smaller and MUCH more healthier one!

I had the surgery on March 13, 2001 and have no regrets.  After talking with MANY post-ops and attending some support groups and doing months of research on the internet about it I decided it was what I need to improve my health.  It was NOT something I did because I am not happy living life as a bbw.  I’m still plenty big enough to be considered a bbw.  I'd come to the point of finally being ok with the fact that I'm a big girl..it's my biology and I still don't apologize for that.

I thank God for the surgery even though I didn't lose as much weight as I'd hoped to (to ensure health issues don't return in the future). My health problems are nearly gone now and life is good!

Visit http://www.obesityhelp.com to read more about it. I had the RNY (Roux En Y) surgery (the same one Carnie Wilson had done that's been so widely publicized). See Carnie's story HERE . Other artists and performers have had the same surgery done after I had it done such as Blues Traveler artist John Popper, news personality Al Roaker, and music producer and American Idol judge, Randy Jackson.

A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

Pets
-My three crazy cats.  A pure black baby of a cat, Houston, who ran away for six weeks and finally came back after all that time...and a  pure white cat, Gideon, who seems to love to lick me mercilessly  and a big brown and white loveable fur muffin named Indy who is mama's boy :)   He meets me at the door every time! :) They are little hellions, but I love them dearly!!  I have a parrot now too that I’m a new step-mommy to J

Vacation
Hawaii! No doubt about it.  On our honeymoon we spent 5 days on Oahu and 5 days on the Big Island of Hawaii.  Oahu was wonderful…just like in the movies!  The Big Island was nice, but it wasn’t what it was cracked up to be, I thought. I’d love to go back to Oahu again though and this time maybe Maui or Kauai.  I had a severe case of bronchitis on the honeymoon, so I’d love to visit again when I’m healthy this time around!

Movies

"The Passion of the Christ" (a new favorite...AWESOME movie...not for "entertainment" but for meaning), "Shining Through", "Somewhere In Time", "Prince of Tides", "Sleeping With the Enemy", "The Truth about Cats and Dogs", "While You Were Sleeping", and misc thrillers, suspense and COMEDYI'm also a sucker for what I term as underdog movies..movies where the weak prevail ;) I'm pretty eclectic in my taste in movie and music.

Music
-Lite Rock, Classic Rock, R&B, Jazz, Old-time Rock-n-Roll, sometimes Classical,  Relaxation music (Enya, Celtic, Caribbean, misc guitar), Contemporary Christian, and yes, even Country ;).  I really LOVE music!!  I think the sax is the sexiest instrument there is!!

Comedians

-Tim Conway ! (especially on the Carol Burnette show and Dorf on Golf, etc). Robin Williams, Lilly Tomlin, Mike Warnke, Howie Mandell, The Three Stooges (and I'm sure I can think of a dozen others  ;)

Books

- I enjoy biographies and general nonfiction the most....the truth is stranger than fiction!!

Hobbies

Scrapbooking is my latest hobby passion. Mainly digital scrapbooking, but traditional paper scrapping as well. Click on the Digital Scrapbooking link on the left for more information about that. Digital scrapbooking is basically using computer graphics programs to create your pages and then you can both print them out for memory albums and also send them to friends and family to share as well as create a video slideshow presentation to view on a TV with a DVD player. It's much more versatile than paper scrapping.

Cyberspace (that's a given), reading, writing, (NOT rithmetic ;)  )  music, crafts, anything creative, learning how to cook healthier and exercise (hey, BBW's can work out too and still be BBW's..fit ones).  Developing a new lifestyle of healthier eating to take care of myself better...for my HEALTH...not to become a barbie doll!! .  I like to walk, swim, work out to videos, and do stretching exercises (I'm VERY agile for a BBW ;)  )

Things I have survived

- A Train Wreck

- A Stroke

- An accident involving a semi-truck

( If I can survive all this I can survive about anything :) God obviously has me here for a reason! lol  )

Some things to keep in mind   (Things I learned the hard way)

-Live while you're alive. Accept the things that cannot be changed, improve the things that can be improved, and have the knowledge to know the difference (my version of the Serendipity Prayer ;) ). Be true to yourself. Accept  nothing less than God's best in exchange for this day of your life.  In other words, don't settle for less than what's the very best for you.

-Look out for #1.  Never become so consumed in your love for someone that you lose your own identity in the process.  Never let one person become your entire world and reason for waking up everyday.  I've learned this the hard way and it's a lesson that will remain with me for life.  Love with all you have, but maintain your own identity.  Use the very best wisdom you can in choosing who you give your time to be with, make sure they deserve the time you make for them.  Our time on earth is precious..use it wisely.

FEVERISH OBSERVATIONS:

  • A day without laughter is like a day without sunshine.
  • The more you stretch the truth, the more transparent it becomes.
  • It is inevitable...what goes around always always eventually comes around, whatever bread you cast upon the water will come back to you, so be careful what you toss
  • Love is a wonderful luxury...not a necessity. Be happy with yourself first then enjoy the luxury of love when it finally comes your way.

SIX DELIGHTFUL WAYS TO SPEND A DAY OFF:

- going new places, seeing new things, next door or far away
- learning something new, because when you stop learning, you stop living
-curled up on the couch watching a movie with a roomful of friends, or just  that certain someone
- walking on a beach hand in hand with someone you love
- laughing and having a good time with friends, whatever the setting

- and (of course) just putzing around in cyberspace (you knew that was coming :-)   )

PONDERING THE MYSTERIES OF THE UNIVERSE:
  • Did Adam have a bellybutton?    ;)

Things that I Believe

Be the best YOU you can be today while you're doing what you can to get healthier or to recover from whatever is plaguing you. Don't hide in a closet until you accomplish your goal. Present yourself the best you are as you are right now while you work on whatever it is you find the need to work on. Improvements are a progression over time...not an overnight project !

I believe that what goes around comes around. If I cast my bread upon the water it will come back to me. You know..you reap what you sow. The Golden Rule.

I believe that there is a power greater than us controlling the universe. I believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

I believe God watches over and protects the little people, and as naive and seemingly powerless as they may seem to be, He takes care of their well-being and handles their revenge. God's revenge is much more exact than man's can ever be. I believe that truth will always eventually prevail, "Truth is Paramount". If someone brings hurt to someone who's only shown them kindness, one day truth will be shown on them and show them for what they truly are and I pity the day they stand in the shoes of those they've hurt. So GO UNDERDOGS!! :0)
